AQT runs fine under Windows Vista and Windows 7. There are a few issues with installing and configuring AQT which are described below. If you are running a recent version of AQT, the install process will deal with these issues. However, if you are installing an earlier version of AQT you should be aware of them.
there can sometimes be installation problems. This is due to Vista and (to a lesser extent) Windows 7 being very strict about security, so can prevent some of the components used by AQT from being installed correctly. This can happen even if you run the install under an administrator id.
To avoid this, it is recommended that you install AQT by right-clicking the setup file and selecting Run as Administrator.
Vista has a feature called User Access Control. By default, this is set on. When this is on, users are not allowed to create or amend files in the c:\Program Files directory structure. You should ensure that AQT Default Directory and directory for Save Queries not be part of C:\Program Files\Advanced Query Tool, but another directory on your disk.
